WEVH facilities at Ada House
Focused around technology training for women in the Manchester
area, Ada House provides public access to the latest Information
and Communications Technologies.
Ada House offers computer training rooms and open learning areas;
a business drop-in area; office units for rental; meeting rooms;
and a crèche. As a fully refurbished building close Manchesters
city centre, and the new Shudehill Interchange, its location and
design has ensured it is fully accessible to all women.
Computer
Training and Drop-in Centre
Ada House is home to a drop-in centre for women. The centre is
equipped with PCs and Macs and provides drop-in and informal learning
opportunities for women living or working in the area. The drop-in
is staffed by trained tutors and volunteers and is open to individual
women or groups who want to try out or use the equipment, work on
course projects, get further training practice or simply browse
the Internet or send emails."
Two training rooms are equipped with 10 PC and 10 Apple Mac computers,
to deliver formal and informal ICT training to women. Courses range
from basic ICT to Multimedia and Web Design, Networking and Technical
Support, and Internet Applications.

Business Units
1. Five
small office spaces are located on the the top floor of Ada House.
These range in size from 8 - 14.6 sq m, and each accommodate one
to three people.
2. large office / training room (46 sqm) with capacity for up to 12 computers on network,
3. large office / meeting room (40 sq m) with the other with 4 network points, which can be divided into 2 rooms (15 and 25 sq m) using room divider.
4. Office (9.6 sq m) accessed from room 1) with 4 network points,
Units are provided furnished or unfurnished, and rentals are inclusive
of rates, heating and lighting, telephone line rental, cleaning,
and broadband Internet access. Shared use of toilet and kitchen
facilities is also included.
Occupants can benefit from access to the business drop-in, and
reduced rates for meeting room hire as well as paid for services

Creche
We have a fully equipped crèche for up to 10 children. Future
plans include the development of after school provision, including
computer clubs, for children of women attending courses.
Our creche is avaiable for hire to host children's parties and
events. The rates are as follows:

Advice and Guidance
An advice and guidance service will operate from the centre offering
support and counselling for women in making choices about further
training and educational opportunities.
