about my work

The human figure and the way that it moves inspires me. I am interested in looking at different ways that people move, different body shapes that are created.

The challenge is to draw movement, how to depict movement through time. In some of my drawings, single images are joined to create a sequence, a description of the moving figure.

Speed is an important element of my drawing process, this in itself reflects the energy in the movement I am trying to portray. I am interested in involving my whole body in the drawing gesture. Using the figure to draw the figure.

I have recently begun to experiment with 'flash' and 'imageready' animation programs, and have created some animations from my drawings.
