Chorlton
Good Neighbours
This project provides a support service to over 200 local people
who are elderly or disabled, provided by workforce of over 100 volunteers.
WICOP
provided support and advice on planning what IT requirements the
project needed, identified reputable suppliers, identified training
needs and provided ongoing IT support. Continuing Project
in 2000/2001.
Didsbury
Care Group
The organisation provides a support and social service to local
elderly and disabled people. It is run by a committed workforce
of volunteers who run a daily morning drop-in, fundraise, support
individuals and run social activities.
WICOP
provided support and advice on planning on the projects IT requirements,
identified reputable suppliers, identified training needs and ongoing

EISE
(Employment Information and Support Exchange)
EISE supports people with mental health problems to find employment,
voluntary work, education and training opportunities and worthwhile
daytime activities.
WICOP
provided support and consultancy to workers designing and building

GMSN
(Greater Manchester Survivors Network)
This project which is relatively new plans to provide support
to adult survivors of sexual abuse, initially through resources
on-line.
WICOP
is supporting GMSN to develop a logo and stationary in order then
to develop the structure and design of a web site. WICOP also supporting
database development. Continuing Project

Justice
for Women
Campaigns, supports and fights for justice for women who are in
prison.
WICOP
gave general advice regarding building a website.

Paws
for Kids
Paws
for Kids is a small voluntary organisation that is a unique charity
in the UK which 'fosters' the pet animals of women and children
escaping domestic violence.
A
WICOP volunteer built the Paws for Kids web site from scratch and
project workers have provided on-site consultancy to train Paws

Saheli
Ltd
Asian women's refuge, affiliated to Womens Aid which provides temporary
accommodation for women and children suffering from domestic violence.
Saheli Ltd also provides outreach and after care support to women.
WICOP
provided, advice and support over the telephone, help getting on
line using e-mail, technical advice.
Salford
Women's Centre
Salford Women's Centre is a city wide resource for women who live
and work in Salford, providing a wide range of courses, activities
and groups, including a counselling service. The centre has a registered
crèche, community snack bar and some social events.
WICOP provided a 2 day workshop on using digital camera's and using
DTP packages at the centre and on-going telephone technical support.
Trafford Women's Aid
The project provides emergency housing for women and children fleeing
violent and abusive relationships.
WICOP
provided training to all the staff and now working with outreach
worker improving confidence, skills in variety of IT areas. Continuing
Project in 2000/2001.
Trinity House Resource Centre
This project provides a variety of services including, playschemes,
junior clubs, crèche, nursery provision to families in the surrounding
area.
WICOP
has assisted Trinity house to identify its IT needs, draw up recommendations
from IT consultation and connect with good IT suppliers. It provided
computer training for the women on the management committee. Continuing
Project in 2000/2001.
Wai Yin Chinese Women's Society
The Wai Yin is a centre providing a social and learning centre for
the Chinese community. They run a wide range of courses, groups
and playschemes.
WICOP
provided a comprehensive IT audit, with recommendations for good
IT practice, promotion of fault logs and good practice and IT consultation
for networked computer training suite.
