JEB Certificate
in Education Practice: ICT Skills (formerly the JEB
Certificate in IT Skills)
The
JEB Certificate in Education Practice is an excellent introduction
to teaching and learning ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies).
It
is for women who are
-
new to teaching and learning who want to work in adult, community
and further education
-
already working in adult, community and further education and
want to explore the specifics of teaching and learning ICTs
- working
with school children as a teacher or teaching assistant and want
to explore the specifics of teaching and learning ICTs
You
can enhance the practice and theory you cover in the classroom by
taking advantage of our volunteering opportunities which involve
supporting classes, drop-ins and community provision. As well as
gaining valuable practical experience you will have the opportunity
to apply for an assisted place (only £80 fee). See

The
course can be delivered during the day for 12 weeks with completion
of assessments in the following 3 months OR during the evening for
6 months

What
skills do I need?
You
need to be confident in at least 3 different areas of IT e.g. word
processing, databases and spreadsheets and have a good knowledge
of the Internet and File Management. You should have a qualification
to demonstrate your skills to Level 3 or have appropriate experience.
But please do contact Cath Dyson if you are unsure or would like
to discuss your particular level of skill. Full details
